Ein Spaziergang durch die kalten Straßen Englands mit einer warmen Tasse Vanilla Earl Grey Latte. Dieser Duft öffnet sich mit der weichen Süße von Honig mit Earl Grey Tee und einem Hauch von Zitrone. Nach kurzer Zeit entfalten sich kuschelige, warme Vanille, weiche Tonkabohne und der Duft einer butterigen Eiswaffel, die jedem Gourmand-Liebhaber ein Lächeln ins Gesicht zaubern.

Kerosene Fragrances ist ein US-amerikanisches Indie-Parfüm-Label, welches von John Pegg gegründet wurde. John ist wohl alles andere als ein gewöhnlicher Parfümeur. Aufgewachsen in Michigan, unweit der Motor City Detroit, führte ihn sein Start in die Arbeitswelt erst mal in die Fabrikhallen der Automobilindustrie. Dort begegneten ihm die verschiedensten Gerüche und er war fasziniert: Öl, Benzin, gepresster Stahl, Plastik, aber auch der Geruch der rauhen Natur seiner Heimat nach Bäumen und Erde. Seine ersten Schritte in der Welt des Parfüms machte John jedoch nicht mit eigenen Kreationen, sondern mit Duftreviews auf seinem YouTube-Kanal. Bald merkte er, dass er nicht nur über Parfüms sprechen, sondern diese auch selbst kreieren wollte.Aus Nordamerika stammend, mit seinen langen, kalten Wintern, ziehen John besonders wärmere Duftnoten an. Amber, Hölzer und Gewürze finden daher oft ihren Weg in sein Repertoire. Nicht nur die Düfte kreiert er selbst, auch das Design der Flakons stammt von ihm. Jeder Flakon ist ein Unikat und wird von Hand lackiert und gestempelt. John sagt selbst über sich, eine einfache Person zu sein, seine Düfte jedoch sind genau das Gegenteil – roh und einzigartig, dabei aber immer zugänglich.

Yes, I know you are not supposed to purchase fragrances blindly, but I was certain that I would love this fragrance. And I was correct. Just a gorgeous gourmond fragrance which could have been too sweet, but that Earl Grey note sweeps in and balances everything out just so. Imagine a lemon cupcake sitting by a cup of tea. And that waffel cone note is also present. Such a cozy fragrance! I think it will be perfect for the upcoming cooler weather. I only need a spritz or two for 8 hours. This fragrance lasts. Also, a shout-out to Woodberg. This is my second time ordering from them. My fragrance was dispatched quickly and safely. Their customer service is also very helpful and answered a few questions I had pertaining to the release of another fragrance. Highly recommended.

Fulfilled my expections and then some.....

I blind bought this (I know, I know), but I was certain I would like it based on the notes and commentary I have been reading. If this fragrance is any indication, Kerosene and I are going to have a long and wonderful relationship together.

I already own Xerjoff’s Lira and Akro’s Bake. I love each of them; they are similar but different. I was curious as to how Unknown Pleasures would fit into this group. Simply put, I adore this fragrance. UP does its own thing, although I am sure comparisons will be made to Lira and Bake. And I understand why. It opens with a beautiful lemony note which, to my nose, has no synthetic smell at all. Thereafter a gorgeous Earl Grey tea note chimes in which prevents the fragrance from becoming cloyingly sweet. And then that dry down….I am getting vanilla and waffle cone. Yum! So yes, technically this is a gourmand fragrance, but that description would sell this fragrance short. It is so much more. Definitely younger feeling than Lira, more complex than Bake. A bit edgier I would say, too, as I get a hint of smokiness in there also.

An easy 10/10 for me! Next up, if it ever gets restocked….Follow. Or Followed. I am undecided.

Amazing perfume, such a good experience

This was my first time ordering from Woodberg, everything went so amazingly smoothly! the process was fast and simple and felt like every message was personally made for me. The pefume itself is to die for, very gourmand and to me it smells like warm lemon bars with hot chocolate coffee. Just few sprays is enough to last the whole day. My favourite from the brand. Thank you Woodberg I love you and will order again soon!

Might be the best gourmand I’ve ever smelled. If you want a fragrance that is the most luscious scrumptious lovely lemon crumble pie with a cup of tea on the side (that comes through mostly in the dry-down) this is the one. Blind bought this one and it is 100% worth every penny. Also the delivery was fast, the packaging SO CUTE with a hand written personal card and two testers. This just made me so happy. 10/10 experience. Thank you Woodberg & Holly in particular.
