This Clarifying Facial Polish combines the cleansing effect of a facial cleanser with the nourishing and radiant effect of a scrub. The cleansing scrub made from nutrient-rich volcanic ash and glacier clay penetrates deep into the skin, removes impurities, unclogs pores, and provides firmness and elasticity. Salicylic acid, lactic acid, and papaya enzymes remove dead skin cells, thereby reducing skin blemishes and unevenness. Colloidal oatmeal and olive oil soothe and moisturize. A few drops of water activate the powder into a paste. The amount of water used can be adjusted for either a milder formulation or a stronger exfoliating effect.

Suitable for: All skin types Used as: Facial cleanser, scrub

Volcanic ash is rich in minerals and is used in skincare as an antioxidant and antibacterial exfoliant to clarify the skin while removing dirt, impurities, and excess sebum. It provides protection for the skin barrier, while its antimicrobial properties contribute to healing the skin and soothing inflammatory skin conditions. The mineral-rich Kisameet clay from Kisameet Bay in British Columbia has been used for centuries by the indigenous Heiltsuk people for its cleansing and healing properties. The clay nourishes the skin with a wealth of micro and macrominerals, strengthens the skin barrier, and provides a pH balance that eliminates dirt and impurities. Salicylic acid is a beta-hydroxy acid [BHA] derived from the bark of the willow tree. Because it is oil-soluble, salicylic acid can penetrate deeper into the skin layers than other exfoliants, does not clog pores, dissolves skin debris, and, in lower concentrations, helps with seborrheic dermatitis. For this reason, it is a common ingredient in products aimed at treating acne, especially blackheads and whiteheads. Niacinamide, a highly effective form of the essential nutrient vitamin B3, visibly reduces enlarged pores and improves skin texture thanks to its ability to reduce and balance sebum overproduction. Its antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory properties reduce inflammation and alleviate acne. The skin is strengthened through increased collagen and hyaluronic acid production, while the skin barrier is improved to lock in moisture and hydration, reducing signs of skin aging, plumping fine lines, and significantly diminishing skin discoloration.

Nature of Things

Drawn from nature and confirmed by science. This is the philosophy of the modern wellness house Natureofthings. Founded in 2019 by JP Collett and Jamie Leilani Pelayo in Newport Beach, California, they aim to create harmony between mind, body, and the natural world, drawing on the wisdom of nature. With formulas that are equally curative and preventive, their approach is based on the pursuit of holistic well-being. They not only value ingredients but also hold themselves and their partners to the highest standards in every aspect of production, creating each product without demographic constraints. The origin of their name is inspired by the poem "De Rerum Natura" (translated as "Nature of Things"), written around 50 BC by the Roman poet Lucretius, in which he states that the removal of pain and fear allows people to live a truly pleasant life. And that is exactly what Natureofthings aims to achieve with their line. They use natural and safe ingredients that have been shown to alleviate stress, anxiety, pain, and inflammation, calm the mind, and beautify the skin. They believe it is right to feel good, but they know that quick fixes and fast answers are not enough to achieve this goal. Caring for oneself is a daily endeavor. It means tuning into the rhythms of one's own body and those of the world around you. It means being present in the moment to create a healthier foundation for the future. Of course, Natureofthings does not claim these ideas as its own. They are practically as old as time. Yet they are powerful and true.
