Summer 2018, a bottle of wine in a shared apartment in Hamburg and plastic waste in the bathroom. Thus, the idea of plastic-free care alternatives by Mar Navajas Garcia and Natalie Richter was born. The two minds behind Terrorists of Beauty had already tested available plastic-free alternatives on the market when they concluded: There must be a better and more convincing solution to get as many people as possible to see bar soap as a real, effective alternative to conventional care products. The fight against the outdated standards of the globalized beauty industry began. Their idea: Natural, vegan, plastic- and palm oil-free unisex soaps for hair, body, and face handmade in Germany. Their logo, the mathematical symbol for a logical consequence, reflects their consistency in their ingredients. Each soap consists of four to a maximum of 15 natural ingredients. The formulation is based on the saponification of spring water and high-quality vegetable oils, a complex cold mixing process with the help of caustic soda, leading to a natural aging process lasting several weeks and a traditional Indian method, where over several days, Ayurvedic essences are created in the form of natural plant and herbal extracts. After the first waves of orders and many positive feedbacks, it quickly became clear to them: Terrorists Of Beauty is not a time-limited sustainability project, but in its uncompromising nature, it is what many people have been waiting for. The initiative, originally planned as an art and eco-project, quickly turned into a tangible anti-brand within a few months. In order to continue acting radically natural in the future, they reject investor funds. Terrorists Of Beauty, on the other hand, believes in sustainable, organic growth and authentic support from customers. They and their soaps are aimed at everyone who desires a more sustainable and beautiful world and wants to reduce their bathroom without compromise.
