Radio Bombay is a transistor radio hewn of sandalwood that radiates ragas in the Bandra heat. Hot copper tubes warm the soft wood releasing blooms of musk and coco distillates. The music booms across the market into the buzz of voices, where nutty pepper spiciness pairs with the delicate creamy peach notes of the neighboring stand. A creamy sandalwood scent is created rounded out with a colorful mix of spices.
This pocket perfume with the roller ball is perfect for on the go. Whether in your pocket, handbag or backpack, the oil can be easily dabbed on the pulse points on the inside of the wrist and neck for a lasting scent. The oil-based roll-on connects with the skin and lasts for hours, so that you get a whiff for every move you make.

Top notes:Radiant wood, copper, cedar
Heart notes:Sandalwood, Radiant Iris, Coral Rue
Basic notes:Balsam Fir Absolute, Coconut Musk, Amber

Behind the Fragrance

“I am interested in hypothetical scent. Not everything has a strong or easily perceivable aroma, but objects can suggest a fragrance. Light bulbs glow. Electricity courses through their metal filaments. They melt the dust on their surface emitting wisps of heat. The tubes in amplifiers have a certain aroma. When my '69 Fender Deluxe gets heated-up (after rip-roaring monster shredding), the back of the amp produces a hot dusty metallic grease perfume – the scent of backstage in a humid venue. So what if there was a tube amplifier in an old radio made of sandalwood? Then the interaction of the heat would open up the pores of the wood, singing its smooth elegant fragrance – puffs of musky cedar, peach, coconut, lactones, milk. Real sandalwood essence is perfection. I often wear it neatly. It smells of India, effigies, purity, focus. Unfortunately, it has been overharvested, so perfumers don't use the oil from Mysore anymore. Radio Bombay is a deconstruction of the Mysore santal rebuilt from all the aspects written above. I imagine the radio sitting in a small hot shop in Bandra – the “Brooklyn” of Bombay (sorry). The heat deconstructs the oils in the wood. Ragas and Geeta Dutt tunes jangle out of its tiny speakers in the busy city.” – David Seth Moltz

D.S. & Durga

D.S. & Durga is a Brooklyn-based brand whose fragrances tell stories that transport you to faraway places. Each fragrance is a fragment of half-remembered myths of pioneers, frontierswomen and cowboys, imaginary landscapes, saloons and workbenches that invite discovery. According to the founders, the art of a perfume lies not only in the quality but also in the handling of the individual components. D.S. stands for David Seth Moltz, who taught himself how to make perfume. He lives his passion for transforming musical and literary spaces into fragrances. This also means that every single fragrance is conceived and constructed in-house by D.S. & Durga themselves, i.e. without intermediaries or interpretation by external perfumers. Kavi (aka Durga) designs everything around the fragrances. By thinking in terms of angles, light, shadow and texture, she creates clarity in form and function. Through this constellation, everything the couple loves about music, art, nature and design is told in detail aromatically. All the fragrances are invisible soundtracks that you can wear on your body throughout the day. The more you know about the stories and events, the deeper you dive into the world inside the bottle. The story, unexpected and novel combinations are the core of the aromatic vision.
