When the Bora wind whips the black waters of the Quarnero, a fresh, salty mist engulfs the Coast of Laurels, the grand riviera of Imperial Austria. Fresh breeze on the laurel coast - today Istria, formerly K.u.K. Riviera. Complex and salty sea scent with laurel top note.

Fragrance notes:Algue Absolute, Seaweed, Bay Leaf, Sea Salt, Juniper, Muscat Sage, Hyacinth, Wild Pistachio, Cedarwood

Behind the Fragrance

The great era of seaside resorts also found its glamorous setting in the Habsburg Empire at the turn of the century: on the Austrian Riviera between Abbazia and Laurana, in what is now Croatia. This stretch of coast, which was also called the "Laurel Coast" because of the species Laurus Nobilis that grew everywhere there, was known for its mild climate and the beneficial effects of its salty air. Sale Marino is the fresh breeze that blows over the Quarner Gulf and along the "Lungomare" promenade lined with palm trees and oak trees. A salty, natural sea scent with a hint of laurel in the top note, greenish fresh algae absolute in the heart and a hint of the wild juniper bushes that line the stone ruins in the hinterland. Tip from "Financial Times" style columnist Tyler Brûlé.

Wienerblut

Wienerblut was founded in 2008 in Vienna by Alexander Lauber. Lauber spent much time in antique shops, at flea markets and in the archives of the Hofburg to find and collect information about perfume from Vienna at the time of K.u.K. Reich and also acquired, among other things, old cosmetics sets owned by the Habsburg family. WienerBlut believes that great fragrances are like treasured secrets, giving the most pleasure to those who carry them. The formulas are built to whisper, not to shout. Listen carefully to the stories they tell. They love the complexity of natural raw materials and use them generously. The high amount of natural raw materials causes the fragrances to develop dynamically for hours. This is intended and a quality characteristic. The fragrances do not become "less", they change and become one with the wearer. They believe luxury is a result of seasoned craftsmanship, fine materials and timeless design. The bottles are made especially for us in a small European manufactory. Because of the hand finishing, each bottle will charm you with individual irregularities. The caps are made of ivory bakelite, a material most notably used in the early nineteen hundreds. Because the production is costly and takes time, bakelite has become a rare good. WienerBlut love its smooth, warm touch and organic surface feel.
