The cap is made from wenge wood, one of the most resilient tropical woods.

Behind the Fragrance

Duro was the very first fragrance in the Nasomatto collection. The scent aims to intensify all manifestations of masculine strength. It celebrates masculinity in its purest form. „"Duro" means hard in Italian, hard in every sense of the word – a strong character, materials of lasting durability, sexual expressiveness, power, and steadfastness. This fragrance refers not to the traits that are inherent or given, but to those that one acquires. It speaks of the small victories achieved through great perseverance. And it tells of the ability to feel comfortable in one's own skin and to wear it with confidence. Duro addresses the role of a man, dictated by his testosterone: to live it out and achieve goals, to embrace the challenge of adventure and to take risks. The Nose was inspired to create this fragrance after receiving numerous compliments about the scent of his groin area. He interpreted this scent in the form of a hypnotic, leathery-woody fragrance that captures the idea of unadulterated masculinity, virility, and masculine sex appeal. It is hard to be a man – there is no doubt that this saying holds a certain truth.

The cap on the bottle is made from wenge wood, one of the most resilient tropical woods. This type of wood has a characteristic dark color with distinct linear grain, and it is extremely heavy and hard.

Nasomatto

Nasomatto is an experimental olfactory platform founded in 2007 for The Nose – Alessandro Gualtieri.  Alessandro had a penchant for special scents since childhood, which is why he began combining various perfumes from well-known manufacturers (CK One, Gucci, Tom Ford, etc.) with everyday aromas while still in school. Various fragrance samples from different fashion magazines also helped him develop his sense for sometimes unusual, but always fragrant scents. Alessandro Gualtieri learned the basics of the perfume world in Germany. This acquired foundational knowledge, along with his passion for scents, led to the founding of Nasomatto. It was a breakout from previous professional activities that came with numerous restrictions. During his work for international companies and in creating fragrances for cleaning products to exclusive perfume brands, Alessandro was bound by specific instructions and trend forecasts that dictated what was 'in' and what was not in the current season. He felt restricted in his creativity and in conflict with the system.  To find distance from his past and to express himself more fully, Alessandro felt a pressing desire to become independent and launch his own brand. He chose the name 'Nasomatto' – Italian for 'crazy nose' – which had previously been given to him as a nickname within the perfume world. The Nose assigns a subordinate importance to fragrance pyramids and does not want to disclose the components he uses. He has great respect for the raw materials and believes that naming them restricts the experience of smelling and leads it in the wrong direction. In the past, perfume was considered a kind of magic potion, and its ingredients were kept strictly secret. The Nose wants to maintain this approach for his creations as well.  Each fragrance stands as an artistic, personal expression of the creator.
