In the beginning of the world, there was an explosion. The glowing lava of the volcanoes spread across the surfaces, transforming them into new landscapes. Terroni is dedicated to the South and its inhabitants around the world: people who work and create with their hands and feel connected to traditions. Feeling the soil between your hands has something powerful and fulfilling about it – the sensation of being part of this earth and the joy of sowing and weeding. This composition is about the significance of roots for the growth and development of our character.
Terroni is rich in Vetiver from Java and takes the wearer on an olfactory journey to the beginnings of the earth. Back to the roots and foundations. The scent evokes the smell of volcanic eruptions, historical landscapes, and primal soils, untouched earth, and the passionate actions of the self. It embodies the belief that natural beauty develops from a connection to traditions. Those who are deeply rooted preserve the authentic light of their true selves.
A PACKAGING THAT LEADS TO NEW DISCOVERIES All fragrances from ORTO PARISI are hidden in a box that unfolds in individual facets and suggests an opening to infinity in the center. The scent of Terroni is housed in a glass bottle with a cap made of hammered artillery metal and an inlay of volcanic rock. The label made of natural white paper has the texture of 'Savile Row Tweed' and features an extremely fine herringbone structure.
CENTRAL ASPECTS OF ORTO PARISI
PLEASANT versus STRICT SCENTS ATTRACTION versus REPULSION
Two notes are present in all fragrances: 'PISSE DE CHEVAL' and 'BOYA BUTTER'. Boya butter is the butter from precious agarwood that forms in the heartwood of Aquilaria trees when they are infected with a special type of mold. The heartwood is odorless, thin, and light before infection. After infection, it darkens and produces an extremely aromatic resin called Agar, also known as 'Oud'. First-grade agarwood is one of the most expensive natural raw materials in the world. The scent of agarwood is complex and enchanting, and there are almost no other substances that come close to it. Behind the so-called 'pisse de cheval' lies the organic component p-Cresol, which is produced during the bacterial fermentation of human protein and is excreted with feces and urine. It is also a component of tobacco smoke and human sweat, which attracts female mosquitoes. In the Orto Parisi collection, p-Cresol plays a role in creating repulsive and attractive notes. It is an essential component of the natural scent of pigs and is produced during the mating season by male elephants. It is one of the rare components that attract Euglossini – the so-called orchid bees – and has been extensively used in this context to capture and study the species. A repulsive lure that brings the hidden scent of the soul to life. These two extremely subtly processed fundamental components represent the contradiction between attraction and repulsion in a balanced combination with other raw materials. They invite those who smell the fragrances on an endless journey to discover life through the sense of smell.
