Byredo

Byredo was founded in 2006 by Ben Gorham in Stockholm with an ambition to translate memories and emotions into the form of everyday products. Born to an Indian mother and a Canadian father, Ben grew up in Toronto, New York and Stockholm. He graduated from the Stockholm art school with a degree in fine arts, but a chance meeting with perfumer Pierre Wulff convinced him that he'd rather create fragrances than paintings. As an outsider in the beauty industry, he is somewhat of an anomaly and has created a unique position in the market for his personal style and connection to fashion and art. In contrast to the typical Scandinavian esthetics, Byredo carries clear ethnic influences from Ben’s Indian background with strong ties to creativity, art and lifestyle. Byredo's approach to letting creations be led by emotion is expressed through a full and limitless brand universe. Each product is developed using the highest quality materials available and design details. According to Ben, creativity enables us to develop timeless products, both meaningful and inspirational, to people and their lives. It is through this fundamental idea that Byredo reinvents the world of luxury.
