Volcanic ash is formed when volcanic activity causes solid rock to shatter and magma to break into tiny particles. Much like diamonds, this material is formed under pressure, making this amazing organic substance the key ingredient for a hard-working facial scrub. It acts like a natural abrasive and combines perfectly with natural clays to create a deep exfoliation. Green clay is a particularly absorbent clay. We call it kryptonite for blackheads. It's unbeatable when it comes to drawing out dirt and impurities from oily skin. Plus, it's nourishing, being naturally rich in iron, magnesium, and potassium. Kaolin clay is a soft, white clay named after the mountain in China (Kao-ling) where it was first mined. It has been used for centuries to make Chinese porcelain. When kaolin is mixed with water, it can be molded under pressure.
