A fragrance as intangible as Klimt´s golden vision of the Elysion Fields – “an ideal realm, wherein alone we can find pure joy, pure happiness, pure love". Elysion wears like a subtle, immaterial cloak of bright light, verdant freshness and subdued florality. This olfactory representation of Gustav Klimt's Beethoven Frieze – a monumental 34-meter-long painting cycle honoring Ludwig van Beethoven – tells the story of the right side of the painting, representing the "ideal realm", full of angels, joy, love and happiness.
Experience the captivating world with Elysion, an exquisite perfume that will enchant your senses with its unique blend of notes. This masterful fragrance combines the refreshing scent of cedrat, the soothing aroma of angelica root, and the delicate essence of fig leaf. As you delve deeper into the fragrance, you'll be greeted by the subtle warmth of red rpepper and the intoxicating allure of mimosa absolute. The floral elegance of water jasmine adds a touch of sophistication, while the mysterious iso E super creates an intriguing aura around you. As the fragrance settles on your skin, the rich and sensual notes of amber and musk emerge, leaving a trail of irresistible allure. The final touch of cedarwood adds depth and a hint of bright yet woody sophistication to this enchanting composition. Elysion is more than just a perfume; it is an olfactory journey that transports you to a realm of pure bliss. With its harmonious blend of notes, this fragrance is designed to evoke feelings of confidence, joy, and elegance.

The other side to this tale is told through Therion, representing the "hostile forces". A dark, spicy warmth reveals the presence of the great beast Typhon, or Typhoeus, who once ruled the deepest realms of Hades.

Fragrance notes:Citron, Angelica Root, Fig Leaf, Red Pepper, Mimosa Absolute, Anise, Water Jasmine, Iso E Super, Amber, Musk, Cedarwood

Behind the Fragrance

In the spring of 1902, the Vienna Secession organized an exhibition in honor of Ludwig van Beethoven, who was revered as a visionary hero by the newly founded utopian artist group. For the occasion, artist Gustav Klimt created a monumental, 34-meter-long cycle of paintings that stretched across three walls. The Beethoven Frieze, a visualization of humanity's pursuit of happiness, is an allegory of Richard Wagner's interpretation of Beethoven's Ninth Symphony. The innovative and bold depictions are described by contemporary critics as "shameless, pathological and obscene". This olfactory depiction of the Beethoven Frieze is inspired by the two opposing poles of the cycle, the "hostile powers" on the central wall and the "ideal realm" on the right wall, two terms that refer to Greek mythology. In Greek mythology, the Elysian Plain was originally the paradise to which heroes granted immortality by the gods were sent - a land of perfect happiness at the end of the world, on the shores of the ocean. In Gustav Klimt's painting, this takes shape as the floating angels, yearning for love and happiness, find their way to a female figure with a lyre, who embodies poetry. Five women placed one behind the other in lively gesture embody the arts, refer to the realm of ideas, ideals and happiness, and here in particular allude to the final chorus of the Ninth Symphony, the song with Schiller's text "Joy, beautiful spark of the gods, this kiss of the whole world". In a blissful kiss, a couple sinks into a paradisiacal environment.

Wienerblut

Wienerblut was founded in 2008 in Vienna by Alexander Lauber. Lauber spent much time in antique shops, at flea markets and in the archives of the Hofburg to find and collect information about perfume from Vienna at the time of K.u.K. Reich and also acquired, among other things, old cosmetics sets owned by the Habsburg family. WienerBlut believes that great fragrances are like treasured secrets, giving the most pleasure to those who carry them. The formulas are built to whisper, not to shout. Listen carefully to the stories they tell. They love the complexity of natural raw materials and use them generously. The high amount of natural raw materials causes the fragrances to develop dynamically for hours. This is intended and a quality characteristic. The fragrances do not become "less", they change and become one with the wearer. They believe luxury is a result of seasoned craftsmanship, fine materials and timeless design. The bottles are made especially for us in a small European manufactory. Because of the hand finishing, each bottle will charm you with individual irregularities. The caps are made of ivory bakelite, a material most notably used in the early nineteen hundreds. Because the production is costly and takes time, bakelite has become a rare good. WienerBlut love its smooth, warm touch and organic surface feel.
