In 2016, Australian-born Claire Ralston launched MERME Berlin out of her passion for Clean Skincare, which arose during her studies at the Australian College of Natural Beauty. There she was particularly interested in the effectiveness of non-invasive and natural beauty methods. When she moved to Berlin in 2014, she couldn't find good, organic skincare that gave her the healthy glow she wanted. So she started sourcing the good ingredients herself - MERME was born. Merme was Claire's grandmother's name, who lived on a cattle farm in northern New South Wales, Australia. Since childhood, Merme believed in the power of nature and in living off the land. Since she possessed every kind of oil for every concern, her nickname is the inspiration for the naming of the brand.
MERME Berlin focuses on the philosophy of "minimalism in a bottle." The active ingredients are reduced to their simple, powerful and 100% effectiveness, with no hidden fillers, added fragrances or synthetics. Their goal is to create a skincare routine for everyone in simple and effective, whether a beauty beginner or a beauty junkie who has tried everything and wants to get back to basics. By researching nature in combination with biotechnological advances, MERME Berlin is able to develop sustainable and highly effective pure ingredients. In this way, they take advantage of the latest scientific findings to consciously create Clean Skincare products that are vegan, animal-free, and non-GMO. It is important to them to minimize their impact on the environment. This is reflected in their decisions to bottle their products in recyclable glass, use only vegan and animal-free ingredients, avoid any synthetic ingredients that harm the ecosystem, use reusable organic cotton bags instead of cardboard packaging, and their mindful shipping practices.
