Behind the Fragrance

Blame is an unwise and unsuccessful creation that comes from poor judgment and carelessness. This fragrance encompasses the misplaced expectations, failure and the acceptance of failure within oneself. It is a creation that reveals the beauty that lies in making mistakes, recognizing them and moving on from them. You are who you are. It is a quest to recognize one's own instincts, values, choices and actions. A process during which the burning desire for perfection gradually dissolves.

To create Blamage, The Nose chose the ingredients that would form the basis of the perfume blindfolded. It was a challenge, a mistake from the very first step. Blamage captures the process of self-acceptance, the freedom that comes from knowing. It is about renewing one's attitude. The mistakes we make are the key that opens the door to progress and creativity. Sometimes a great work of art is even born from a mistake. Failure is thus transformed into a fundamental contribution to the creation of a masterpiece and its success.

The cap on the bottle is made of white lacquered hazelnut wood. The shape and size of the cap can vary to express the irregularity and uniqueness of nature. The wood is cut in winter, then brushed and primed. Then different layers of white and transparent lacquer are applied to represent the transition from naturally flawed to perfection.The outer packaging for Blamage is due to a completely bad choice of colors and bears the amateurish digital signature of The Nose.

Nasomatto

Nasomatto is an experimental olfactory platform founded in 2007 for The Nose - Alessandro Gualtieri. Alessandro already had a penchant for special fragrances as a child, which is why he began combining various perfumes from well-known manufacturers (CK One, Gucci, Tom Ford, etc.) with everyday aromas at school. All kinds of fragrance samples from various fashion magazines also helped him to develop his flair for sometimes unusual but always fragrant scents. Alessandro Gualtieri learned the basics of the perfume world in Germany. 
This basic knowledge, combined with a passion for fragrances, led to the founding of Nasomatto. It was an escape from previous professional activities that came with numerous restrictions.
While working for international companies and creating everything from fragrances for cleaning products to exclusive perfume brands, Alessandro was bound by specific instructions and trend forecasts that dictated what was "in" and what was not for the current season. He felt restricted in his creativity and in conflict with the system. In order to distance himself from his past and express himself more fully, Alessandro felt an urgent desire to become independent and launch his own brand. He chose the name "Nasomatto" - Italian for "crazy nose" - which had previously been given to him as a nickname within the perfume world.
The Nose attaches secondary importance to olfactory pyramids and does not wish to specify the components he uses. He has great respect for the raw materials and believes that naming them limits the olfactory experience and steers it in the wrong direction. In the past, perfume was considered a kind of magic potion and its ingredients were kept a closely guarded secret. The Nose wants to maintain this approach for its creations. Each fragrance stands as an artistic, personal expression of the creator.
