Boya butter is the butter from precious agarwood that forms in the heartwood of trees of the genus Aquilaria when they are infected with a special type of mold. The heartwood is odorless, thin, and light before infection. After infection, it turns dark and produces an extremely aromatic resin called agar, also known as 'Oud'. First-grade agarwood is one of the most expensive natural raw materials in the world.
