Mineralized Hydroxyapatite is a non-toxic and biocompatible alternative to fluoride that provides proactive care for sensitive teeth. Studies show that hydroxyapatite toothpaste is just as effective, with the added benefit of helping with tooth sensitivity. Hydroxyapatite is a form of calcium that makes up 97% of tooth enamel and nearly 70% of dentin. Hydroxyapatite is absorbed by the teeth and fills in the cracks in enamel caused by demineralization. This leads to benefits such as reduced tooth sensitivity and pain relief, lower risk of cavities, and remineralized and repaired teeth. Compared to fluoride, hydroxyapatite works by remineralizing enamel from the inside out, reaching the innermost part of a cavity and binding to proteins like bacteria during brushing to combat plaque. Sodium Bicarbonate has low abrasiveness but effectively removes the plaque biofilm, reduces the occurrence of bleeding and inflamed gums, and effectively whitens teeth, especially stains caused by food and drink.
